Notes and highlights
Highlighting
Section titled “Highlighting”Select text in the ebook or PDF reader and highlight it in five colours and three styles: highlight, underline, or strikethrough. Tap an existing highlight to recolour, restyle, delete, or attach a note.
Notes on a highlight form a timestamped thread, so a passage can carry a conversation with yourself across rereads.
For audiobooks, the bookmark button in the player marks the moment, with an optional note.
The Notes tab
Section titled “The Notes tab”More → Notes gathers every highlight, note, and bookmark in one place, including for books you haven’t downloaded, pulled from the server.
- Search across all of it. The search bar docks to the top as you scroll.
- Open a book’s notes from its page, or from inside the reader (••• menu → Notes) without leaving the book.
- Each entry shows whether it’s synced to the server. Anything still local shows an unsynced count and a Sync Now action.
- In the reader, a small pill in the chrome shows when your position and notes last saved.
Notes survive a re-import
Section titled “Notes survive a re-import”If a book’s removed and re-added on the server, it gets a new id, and Apogee offers to re-attach its notes with a banner. You can also move notes onto a different book by hand (“Move notes”).
