Everything in Apogee’s Settings, screen by screen. Open More and tap the gear button.

Your account

The card at the top shows who you’re signed in as and on which server. Tap it for:

• Sign Out. You’ll need your server address, username and password to sign back in.
• Server addresses.
  • Local address, used on your own network. Apogee tries it first and falls back to the remote address by itself. Optional.
  • Remote address, used from anywhere. A new address takes effect when you next sign in.
  • More on both: Signing in.
• Headers and tokens: extra headers Apogee sends with every request, on both addresses. There’s a place for a Cloudflare Access token (Client ID and Client secret), an allowlist header, and any other headers your server needs.

Library

• Group series together shows a series as one tile.
  • Keep novellas out of the series keeps short in-between stories separate.
  • Show books the server is missing shows gaps in a series, greyed out.
• File manga under Comics puts books from your comics libraries under Comics. With it off, only books marked “Read as comic” appear there.
• Show audiobook PDFs as books brings back PDFs filed next to an audiobook. Off by default.
• Open a book after adding it opens a book you add from Files once it’s uploaded.

To hide a whole media type or a library, use Libraries in the Library tab. A hidden type leaves Home, Library, Browse and Search, and a hidden library stops syncing.

Reading and Playback

Page Turns sets how pages turn in every reader: Tap to Turn, what the left side does, how wide the tap areas are, and whether a tap on the bottom edge turns forward. Show Tap Guide shows the guide again next time you open a book. You can change the same things inside a book: see Reader menus, themes and page settings.

While listening:

• Scrubber scale: the player’s scrubber covers the Whole book or the Chapter.
• Rewind on resume: when you press play after a pause, go back Off, 5, 10 or 15 seconds. Adaptive goes back further the longer you paused, up to 30 seconds after ten minutes or more.
• Live Activity on the Lock Screen.
• Widget tap starts playing.
• Keep screen awake while following: keeps the screen on while Read & Listen follows the audiobook.

Appearance

• Colour scheme: System, Light or Dark.
• Accent: 18 colours that match the BookOrbit web themes. The accent reaches the tab bar, buttons, progress bars, links in the reader, widgets and the Live Activity.

Where covers appear:

• Covers: corners (Rounded, Less round or Square), a book spine effect, using each cover’s own shape, and titles under covers for audiobooks, books and comics.
• Lists and shelves: the look of the media selector (Glass or Outlined), reading status in list rows, and read checkmarks and ratings on covers.
• Notes: how highlights look in the Notes tab (Spine or As they appear), and which side the cover sits on.

Fonts lists the fonts you’ve added to your server. Tap one to fix its family name, weight or style, or remove it from every device. Add fonts from a book’s Themes & Settings.

Storage and Downloads

• Download Want to Read automatically, with Wi-Fi only and how many books to keep ready (1 to 50).
• Keep subscribed lists up to date keeps the collections you’ve chosen to download current.
• Storage shows the space used by audiobooks, books and comics, with buttons to delete each kind or everything downloaded. You’re asked to confirm first.

Fanfic Updates

Sign in to Archive of Our Own to see which fics you follow have new chapters. Choose which library new chapters go to, clear the cached list, or sign out of AO3. Apogee only reads your subscriptions and chapter counts, and never posts to AO3. See Fanfic.
